Our Story

How Bill Pino turned a garage workshop and a passion for offshore fishing into the most trusted name in tournament tackle.

2004

The Beginning

Bill Pino, an avid offshore angler from South Jersey, set out to build a better spreader bar from his 32-foot boat, the Incommunicado. Frustrated with the options on the market, he began hand-rigging his own designs in his garage -- testing every configuration on the water until he got it right.

2005

First Catch

The proof came fast. Fishing aboard the Espadon, Bill landed a 186-pound big eye tuna on one of his own prototype rigs. Word spread quickly along the docks. Fellow captains wanted to know what he was pulling behind the boat -- and whether they could get one.

2006

Rapid Growth

What started as a handful of custom orders exploded to over 100 spreader bar orders in a single season. Demand spread from the marinas of South Jersey all the way down to the NC Outer Banks. Bill scaled production while refusing to cut corners on materials or craftsmanship.

2008

The Dredge Revolution

A charter captain suggested Bill try building a squid dredge -- a multi-arm rig that mimics a school of baitfish beneath the surface. Bill engineered the design, and the results were staggering: 103 white marlin releases in a single season. The dredge became the product that put Squid Nation on the map.
